Topic: Bulletin Board Closing Notice

Hey Everyone,This is kind of a bummer, but I'm going to have to close down this bulletin board soon. Why? The underlying structure of this bulletin board is very old (at least 13 years) and has caused ongoing problems related to email spammers using vulnerabilities of the bulletin board to send spam through the server. This is causing problems for my hosting provider and I've been given an ultimatum. And since this system does not use a true database I do not have the resources to manually transfer all this material into a newer system. I know there is a wealth of knowledge buried in these posts and I will attempt to keep a back up of that material for use at a later date. It seems activity has continued to slow here anyway, so maybe it is time for something newer and better for the profession. I trust that it has been helpful for many during the past 13 years.

Ralph,
Sorry to hear that you are shutting down. This site has been an incredible asset to our profession. I know that you have personally taken a few hits for having this site. Ralph, Hate to see the board go by the wayside. Anyone???? Does the APA have a private board that we could switch over to? I seem to remember us having one but don't think I've ever actually been on it. I don't even know my logon or password to get on the APA member side site. IP: Logged |
